Kishan Reddy appeals to GHMC

HYDERABAD: Bharatiya Janata Party leader G. Kishan Reddy on Saturday requested GHMC commissioner to complete pending civic works in view of the ensuing rainy season in the twin cities. Mr. Reddy said that there was a need for removal of silt from storm water drains, maintaining sanitation and taking up pending works in the interest of general public.

Before the commencement of monsoons, silt removal from storm water drains has to be taken up but it has not started so far, Mr. Reddy said. “It’s not enough to just remove silt from manholes.

Authorities should make efforts to remove the silt accumulated in the pipes between the manholes too. They should take up this activity before monsoons,” he said.

The BJP candidate from Amberpet requested the GHMC authorities to take up a special drive to improve the sanitation situation in twin cities. “Garbage is being left unattended in several streets in the twin cities and it is very important to take up a sanitation drive,” he said in a release.

Drawing attention of GHMC officials towards several pending works that were sanctioned in various divisions in twin cities, like construction of community halls, parks, roads, chain link mesh etc, Mr. Reddy made an appeal for quick completion of these projects.
